Postcard Design Advise

You must understand this concept to avoid printing problems.

Certain vibrant colors (rich blues, greens and purples) cannot print correctly in the Process color system, which is used to print full color postcards. Failure to understand this concept is the #1 problem/misunderstanding that can occur.

The solution: Avoid using rich/vibrant blues, greens and purples in your postcard. We do this by default

You need to understand that the US Postal Service mandates that there be a blank strip which runs along the entire bottom of the address side of the postcard. They use this for computer barcodes to speed up delivery. There must be no printed or written material in this area, so be sure to avoid writing in this area.

Marketing advise for postcards: Only give price quotes on a postcard if you are prepared to commit to these prices. Be extra careful about printing cards which advertise a heavily discounted price, such as a "two for one" offer. If you don't explicitly place an expiration date on this offer, then these cards might come back to haunt you. To be safe, always limit any advertised discounted price to no more than one month for your product/service.

Avoid a too-small font size on the postcard and in particular, avoid trying to put too much info on the card. You can't do an entire sales pitch on a 4 x 6 card. Use the card to open the door to a sale and close the sale yourself
